First Veggies

Everett had his first veggies on November 18th. Sweet potatoes!

He wasn't so sure for the first few bites but has gobbled them up happily every time since.

Thanks, Big Sis!

Everett had some time to wait in the high chair the other day so Emily brought him something to play with.

He thought it was great fun and it is now her "go to" high chair toy for Everett.
The best is when she cheers for him, "good job, Everett! Look Mama, he is trying it!!"

Getting So Big

Last week I sat Everett up in the stroller for the first time (he had been riding really reclined). He thought that he was a big shot!
Perhaps his favorite part was being able to watch everything his big sister was doing...

and being able to see the world around him as we walked.

Once we arrived at the park, he watched Emily swing...

and then had another first. A BIG one this time... his first slide!! He was eager to get going...
and smiling when it was over.
Emily came over to tell him what a good job he had done...
before she ran up to slide down behind us.

He had three trips down the slide that day and while he didn't show huge outward signs of delight... he didn't show signs of dislike either. I think he is ready for some more thrills.

Bulb Syringe

For as much as Emily didn't mind this thing... Everett HATES it! Like really, really, really dislikes it. Good thing it brings relief in the end though.

Almost Everett's High Chair

Everett has been showing some signs of outgrowing his bouncy seat.

And just in case we missed the small clues, he made sure to drive the point home the next morning.
Although, he might have been smarter to keep it under wraps so that he could have more time to explore when we weren't looking.

Needless to say, it was time to move him out of the bouncy and into something bigger. Something sturdier.
Something with a built in teething bar.
The only problem... technically, it isn't "available."
Luckily, Emily thinks that the two can share HER chair and she even brought him a toy as he reclined after his meal.

Everett is hoping that his good looks will save him from being evicted...
and we are hoping that the plan for a new booster seat will go over well with everyone.

Six Months

Everett has hit another month-iversary! He is starting to sit up much better by himself, can easily transfer toys from hand to hand, does not stay in one place, and had his first cold. Boo to the last one. Poor Everett had a rough first week as a six month old! We visited the doctor twice last week - the first one being his six month "well visit." He was too sick for any immunizations but we did get his new stats... he is 27.5 inches tall and weighs 18 lbs. 14.5 oz. Of course, that was November 8th and by the time we went back on the 11th he was up to 19 lbs. 8 oz. He is still a happy and snuggly boy... as long as you don't try to suction his nose!

My First Halloween

For my first Halloween they dressed me like a horse.
Then they put me down in this pokey green stuff but didn't really give me a chance to explore - I was only able to sneak a peak or two.
It felt pretty funny on my feet and well... the whole experience was a little funny.
And hot!
But, I wasn't alone... Emily had a REALLY crazy getup on.

And then we all went out for a walk after dark.
I had a good time but was happy when we got home, I undressed,
and was able to investigate the horse in the way I am used to.
I'll be ready next year!
