Is It Just Me...

or does this onesie make my thighs look big?
You can tell me the truth... I can take it.

Friday Night: Dinner + Meeting Adam Jr!

Friday night was the wedding rehearsal followed by a western themed dinner, hosted by Mimi and Papa.
We did not dress very "westerny"...
but Everett did fit in with Great Great Aunt Dorothy in the hat department.
There was a lot of mingling, eating,
people watching,
and relaxing going on.
Until... Everett got to meet Adam Jr. for the first time!
"Hey, I'm Everett. Nice to meet you! Can I stick my hand in your mouth?"
"Come here... I won't hurt you!"
"I totally dig your bib, Adam."
"Come on! Can't I just grab you a little?"
"How about your shirt? Just a little grab on your sleeve."
"Oh look, a camera! Forget the sleeve, let's hold hands!"
The night was fun but long for the babies - Especially after a long day and night before. Everett fell asleep as we did figure eights on the sidewalk while waiting for our car...
but was ready to talk about the fun when we were back at the hotel getting ready for bed!
PS Daddy hand stitched Everett's purple tie to help me out during the packing and prep :)

Come Fly With Me

Everett went for his first plane ride last Thursday! His nerves had him biting his fingernails only for a minute...
before the flight attendant came by and calmed his fears.
After that, he enjoyed looking at all of the lights, buttons,
and the TV screen.
He slept for 30 minutes of the 2 hour and 20 minute flight and when he wasn't sleeping he was just looking around, checking things out, and eating a little. No tears. Angel baby.

But, I'd have to say that his favorite part of the day was when we got our rental car and put him in the middle seat... right next to his best friend!

Feed Me!

Everett had his first rice cereal on October 2nd!
He didn't let me do it on my own... he had to help.
It was pretty runny...
but had enough texture...
that he KNEW it was something different.
But don't let that face fool you...
he did a great job...
and even learned to "dab" his mouth clean.
Success!
*Everett is doing really well with cereal. He has taken to it much faster than Emily did and talks through the whole meal as well as kicks his feet like crazy. We have our fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that this means good things for the future.

Five Months

Five months! At five months Everett is still really happy and eating up a storm. He started cereal - more on that later. Everett has discovered his feet and toes and is trying to get them up to his mouth since that is where EVERYTHING goes. Just like a normal baby, Everett has his hands or some toy in his mouth most of the day. He is not taking his third nap these days which means he is ready for bed pretty early and he is getting excited about his first plane ride and chance to meet more family this weekend!
Weight: 18 lbs. (unofficial, in Mama's arms on home scale)

Around He Goes! - kinda

On September 19th, Everett tried out the Around We Go (lovingly called the AWG around here) for the first time and loved it.
He was mesmerized by the skiing penguin with the rattling balls...
just like Emily was at the same age.
He really wanted to get his mouth on the monkey...
but couldn't quite get it figured out.
He also played the piano like a champ and drooled a lot.
What?! Babies gotta drool!

Wait here...

I was trying to free my hands for a second (September 18th) so I found a safe spot for Everett to wait.
Of course, he had to wait a little longer than I had planned because I had to take some pictures of my patient little babe.

But, it gave him a chance to check out his knees...
feet...
and toes. "Whoa! Toes!"
So it was win win for both of us!
