This morning we went over to Uncle Ryan and Auntie J's for jammie baking day! One the menu were macaroons and cupcakes and everyone got involved.

This morning we went out to a little splash park (okay, a big one) with my best friend, Susan, and her daughter, Lucy. Lucy is 2 months younger than Everett and they enjoyed snacks together ...

and some sand time too!

We had a fun time trying to keep cool in the Texas heat.

Move Over Ted Williams...

Will have to work on discouraging this behavior in the house, but impressive nonetheless.

July 8 & 9, 2013

This morning we left Waco and headed toward San Antonio. It was an unusually long drive but eventually, we made it to our friend's house! 

We were lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Katie & Brian and their kids, Jack, Josh, and 7 month old, Emily!

Everett loved her...

and her toys.

It was very fun spending time with Katie and seeing our babies all together...

who were fast friends.

Thankfully, a little sting was taken out of leaving because we had more friends waiting for us!!

Since it is so hot these days, we had a great plan to stay indoors and bowl!!

We were there with a best friend of mine, Melissa, and her oldest, Maya. (Maya was born on June 11th like Emily - just one year later.)

I couldn't handle the cute going on when Everett would watch his ball roll down the lane...

nor the cute during the kids' celebration poses.

After two games, we gobbled up some lunch and sucked down a few milkshakes at a fave restaurant of mine...

before we had to bid a sad farewell.

BUT, that wasn't the end of our fun! We still had a couple of hours to spend with Great Aunt Cissy, her daughters (Meredith and Carrie), and Meredith's adorable son, Joshua!

Emily and Everett enjoyed playing with their second cousin and his toys while the adults all enjoyed watching them.

A FUN and super busy couple of days!

This morning, Everett enjoyed a little quality time with the dogs...

while Adam Jr. made spice towers.

But when it all came crashing down...

he found Emily and Everett playing with his toys.

To have some fun in the suffocating heat, Uncle Adam set up a slip 'n slide yard game out front!

They didn't really play the game, but sat in the sprays and splashed into the puddle forming at the bottom end instead.

Then, while the boys were napping, Emily got a super special treat - her first viewing of Sleeping Beauty!! (She was very excited that Aunt Angie had a DVD since it is locked away tightly in the Disney vault!)

It was a relaxed and fun day of hanging out.
