If you have 9 minutes and would like to hear Emily's telling of the birth of Jesus then I have the perfect video for you. It is very accurate. Except for when it is not.

Christmas Lights Walk
Well, we can't look at Halloween decorations on our walk anymore. But, who cares - It's even BETTER with all of the beautiful Christmas lights!! Everett loved our first walk on Tuesday and alerted Daddy to each new house he saw - every other minute it was "Dada, Dada!" and a hand signing twinkling lights. I had to capture a bit of it...

Night Night
Everett is not feeling so well this week. A little while before "nap time," we were in his room and he wanted his lovey. I asked him if he wanted to get in bed, if he was tired. He answered yes and I put him in his crib and went out to get the phone and a phone number. I knew I would have to be in his room for part of the call (about the monitor) so I figured I would "put him to bed" after I was finished. By the time I returned to his room, talking to tech support, I found him like this.
Normally he would be in his sleepsack and everything would be removed from his crib. I guess he was tired enough not to care.
*Exhaustion related to his early mornings (when I delay his getting up with these books and toys in his crib) as well as his tummy bug.

There's No Place Like It...
Tonight, we are home. Our trip included 4 flights, 2 road trips (6.5 and 3.5 hrs.), 5 states, 1 Thanksgiving, 2 Christmases, 4 grandparents, 6 cousins, 7 aunts and uncles, too much fun and love to count and not enough hours of sleep. After 16 nights in beds other than our own, we are happy to be here.
Now, with 4:30-5AM wake up calls while on central time, what time should we expect them to wake up on the west coast?

Pumpkin Patch
On Sunday, October 28th, we made our annual trip to...
where we snapped a quick family picture...
just like last year.
Then, one of Emily...
that took me back to last year...
and the year before that.

Emily and Everett 2011
Once we had those pictures behind us, it was time for some face painting. Everett was up first for his very first face painting experience.
(passers by couldn't believe how still he was sitting)
In the end, he was one CUTE puppy!
This year Emily chose to be a mermaid.
And as she checked herself out in the mirror...
I was reminded of last year's witch...
and 2010's pretty kitty.
We left the paint and headed for the bounce house where Everett just watched Emily... and me.
It wouldn't have been a proper visit if we didn't check out how the kids measured up this year...
(imagine a picture of Emily alone 2012)
and even 2010
Nearby, Emily was happy to find a little pony to ride...and Everett appeared to be a bit shocked.
But, soon enough he was telling us what a horsey says...
(Everett doesn't neigh but "snorts" as he spits.)
and seemed ready...
to ride a real one!
Yee Haw!!
And while Everett walked slowly, Emily mounted a different horse...
and went for a trot.Trotting is much faster, so she and Daddy were able to watch Everett on his last lap,
I was able to snap a picture of the three of them,
and Daddy got a couple of me with Everett.
(imagine adorable picture of the two kids that I just deleted, boo)
To finish our day, Emily picked out a few pumpkins...
and loaded them in the wheelbarrow with Daddy.
*loaded all pics at home before leaving home but will need to crop this year's measuring ones and insert a couple that are missing upon our return
