We arrived home from Texas on the evening of Wednesday, July 17th and Aunt Sarah, Lauren, Cole, and Cooper arrived on the afternoon of Monday, July 22nd. Nana and Grandpa joined that Thursday and Uncle Reagan on Saturday, July 27th. I have a lot of posting to do but we had a GREAT two weeks with everyone around and it was over in the blink of an eye!!
Here is a lot of the fun squeezed into 14 minutes... Two Weeks of Family Fun

Problem Solver
Emily claimed a couch and then, of course, Everett wanted the same one. There was much arguing and some whining until Emily came up with a solution and set it all up.
Peace.

July 14-15, 2013
On Sunday, the 14th, we went over to Uncle Ryan and Auntie J's house for one last hurrah with the family. Uncle Adam and Adam Jr. even came down but Aunt Angie was at home feeling lousy.
The next morning Everett awoke ready to greet his last day of vacation before our drive back.
Emily was a little happy about it too, but also sad. She said she wanted to move back to Texas and have Daddy come back too, "because it is quiet here."
While Mama prepared for a return trip, Emily and Everett enjoyed NOT being in car seats and built towers...
and lounged in their jammies.
That night we went out to dinner with Uncle Ryan, Auntie J, Victoria, and Liam since it was everyone's last night. (Ours and Victoria) After dinner, we went to get a bit of ice cream too!
Yum! A sweet ending to our busy fun trip!

The kids were excited to go hiking on the birdie trail this morning.
The Balcones National Wildlife Reserve offers some great birdwatching for "birders," like Papa,
but we were there mainly for the hiking...
and fun!
Papa was able to spot a few birdies up high in the trees - and even though we could hear them and were looking for them...
I think our presence was known (read: we are loud) and the most significant bird spotting was not a great one.
But, we had a great time anyway and when we were back up at the top...
we went home - where Everett showed off some serious puzzle skills.

July 12, 2013
Today, we took Mimi to visit/pick up Papa who had spent the night in the hospital. Emily and Everett were kept in the dark to save them from worry but thankfully, Papa was released pretty quickly. We also took a couple of pictures of Emily's forehead that was showing signs of irritation* around her healed wound.
After dropping Mimi off, we popped in to a pet store to see some animals...
and then went to the urgent care. It was a very speedy process but there were a couple of minutes of waiting for the doctor...
so Everett used the time to check Emily's reflexes.
Then, this evening, Emily played with a really cool paper doll house (hidden in a book) that Aunt Mo passed down for Mimi to keep at her house.
And Everett checked in on the unreasonable amount of potato salad (15lbs. of potatoes) that was being prepped for our big (but not huge) family gathering the next day.

Everett Enthusiasts
I was playing with Everett the other day and decided to video some of our time together. It is a little long - but for far away family, 11 minutes of Everett uninterrupted might be just right!!
Birthday Celebration 2
This morning (June 9th) the kids were eager to wake up and get moving. Today was no surprise, we were going to California Adventure!
Emily donned her new birthday outfit and her new special ears for our day.
Again, we had magic hour passes, so we used them to go on Midway Mania...
A LOT.
After the 5th time, Everett and Mama left for a little carousel time and Emily and Daddy stayed for another 2 times through!
Then, there was another surprise for Emily when her friend Emory showed up! And, knowing that we were celebrating Emily's birthday, Emory even brought a gift!
Mama and Daddy had learned the evening before that our friends were planning a "break" day at Disney since Holly had been studying non-stop for her bar exam. She really needed a break but she did bring her notecards for any down time.
We had a really great time, as always, when we were all together for a couple of rides/shows/hours.
(I had to take a picture, Everett carried these buttons everywhere for several hours.)
(Everett was kind enough to share some sips of Daddy's smoothie with Daddy.)
(Everett LOVES smoothies!)
We separated from the Rat Pack in time to wish Donald a happy 79th birthday (his actual birthday that day)...
and surprise Emily with a birthday lunch at Ariel's Grotto.
Of course, the highlight of the meal for Emily is meeting several of the princesses.
But, while Everett thought meeting and being hugged by the beautiful princesses was cool, his face upon seeing the cookies/dessert tray was priceless.
He gobbled a full cookie...and had moved through a couple different cupcake frostings...
before he requested that I stop photographing his gluttony.
(Emily said, "isn't this bathroom magical?! It's like we are under the sea!" Also, she was very impressed with the kid vanity and that she was able to reach the sink herself.)
Once back on dry land, we found several friends,
(Handy Manny bowed to the birthday princess AND wrote, "Happy Birthday! Love, Handy Manny" in Emily's book. He was the only one, what a sweetheart.)
watched a 3D Muppets show,
rode the train (and even rode it backwards... long story),
and went to see the new Mickey show for the 3rd time that weekend!
Everett's face pretty much sums up the whole weekend.
And by the end of it, we were wiped out.
Thank you for your hospitality, Mickey!
Good night.
