TBall Time

Everett has been WAITING and WAITING and WAITING for his chance to play a sport.  He was too young for soccer last fall and he "technically" was too young for TBall this spring as well.  BUT, he managed to sneak his way in and on January 31st, he had his first practice!
After that first practice he lost his hat :( but Daddy took him to get some proper baseball gear...
including batting gloves.
After a few weeks of Saturday and Sunday practices, it was time for a scrimmage!  He had his new backpack for all of his gear by then and Emily had her conversation heart vest to wear since it IS Valentine's Day!
Eliza and Mama weren't there for the beginning of the game but when we arrived, Everett was fielding from the pitcher's mound.
Coach Ben told him to keep his eye on the ball since it typically rolls in the infield.
And coach was right, it DID roll short.  But, fellow Pirate, Benjamin, left his post at second base and ran for the ball.
Benjamin ended up laying on the ground trying to pick up the ball with Everett on top of him!  Who knew we would get baseball AND tackle football in one?!  Too bad I missed capturing that funny moment and only got one after Everett got back up.
Once it was time for the Pirates to bat, Emily helped Everett find his new batting helmet and positioned him "on deck."
Yes, Emily.  She is the dugout helper and does a REALLY good job keeping the boys on track and suited up properly.
After a stellar hit, see video, Everett was "runner ready" on first base.
And once he made it home, he was back in the dugout...
 for a conference with Emily...
 and a drink of water.
TBall is going just as well as Everett had hoped and expected it to.  Hooray!
