Sweet and Sour

We were on a walk on March 4th when Everett found some purple statice.  He said excitedly, "Look at this flower, Mama, it's beauty-full!! ... It's like Emily cuz she is beauty-full."

He sure loves his big sister!  But, the feeling is reciprocated because just the next day as we were leaving for school, Everett fell and cut open his head.

It didn't bleed like crazy so I was a little surprised to see that the cut was pretty deep.

Emily did not want to see the blood and started to freak out a little about whether or not he was going to need staples (bad memories for her).  She didn't want him to be hurt so I suggested she hold his hand while I applied some ointment.  Emily was very happy to oblige and even took Everett into the kitchen where Eliza was still snoozing so that he could hold hands with both of the girls... knowing that would make him happy.  

She configured the hand holding and Everett was quite delighted.

*I did speak to a nurse and chose not to go to the doctor but Everett wasn't able to go to school so I could monitor him and his behavior.
