BMOC

A lot of people asked me why Everett wasn't in preschool last year.  Mostly because they were dropping off their second child (while also dropping off a classmate of Emily's) and just assumed he was the same age as their preschooler since he interacted well with them.  BUT, Everett only just became old enough this past May and boy was he ready!  As is the custom with the 3 year old class, his teacher came out to our house on August 19th to meet Everett in a comfortable setting for him.  She also read him a story,
(Emily too)
introduced him to "Chester" their special class friend,

and finished up with some stamps and stickers.
We are all thrilled that Everett will have Mrs. MacDonald because we loved her as Emily's teacher.  (She is also excited because she has known Everett since he was only 4 months old!)
The next time we saw Mrs. MacDonald was on Monday, September 8th, in his classroom when we were all invited to explore the classroom and meet some classmates for 40 minutes.  Everett really liked the magnet maze,
play dough,
and the science area.
(Everett put the goggles on himself and enjoyed comparing the weight of objects in the classroom balance.)
Both of those visits, prepared Everett for his very first day of preschool today, September 9th.  He knew the drill... pictures in front of the school sign.

As well as one hug with Emily...
and Mama.
Then, Emily showed him how to hold his tote bag over his shoulder,
and walk to class.
(Emily enjoys the fact that she gets to drop him off and took advantage of her chance at some hugs with past teachers)
He walked right in, hung up his tote bag, and found a spot on the rug.  Then with a wave and a smile, he sent me on my way...
until pick up time almost 3 hours later.
Everett had a wonderful first day and said he thought "it was amazing."
We also got a phone call from Mrs. MacDonald to report that he had a great first day.  He "came in like a pro, listened nicely, was kind to friends, and explored the classroom and what it had to offer."
Nothing less than what we expected from our sweet big shot boy!

For fun, here are a couple of pictures of Emily meeting Chester and Mrs. MacDonald in 2011.
