This morning was Emily's first day of kindergarten! Of course, we first had to take some pictures in front of the school signs (lucky me, my pictures on file don't have blurred sections).
And it wouldn't be right to not include Everett as we have done in years past.
(It's nice to have neighbors there to snap a picture of the three of us.)
After just a few minutes, we watched Emily disappear excitedly into her classroom.I got my kiss and hug but Everett missed out and was pretty disappointed. Thankfully, Mrs. Slick noticed us peering into the room waving and then invited Everett to run in and get a hug. :)
He felt much better once he had his hug and kiss and so we were off to Panera for a little morning treat. Or, a big morning treat. (I had a free coffee expiring today, I took it as a sign that I should go there on the first day of school.)
Everett and I followed up our breakfast goodies with a trip to the grocery store and then back home. We only had a few hours before we would need to return to watch Emily emerge from her classroom and spot us at pick up.

Just precious. 1) I can't believe how big your kiddos are. 2) I miss Kindergarten, too...and I miss teaching with you. Happy Kindergarten year!!
It's amazing how much they grow in a year!
Hope this year is wonderful and that it continues a lifelong desire/interest in school!
