Role Play

Emily is the big sister.  She takes that job very seriously.  And Everett, he takes his little brother role very seriously too.  Here they are on February 15th - Emily the big sister, playing his mama.  She pulled out his binky and lovey and then she put him down for a nap in her room.
He played right along.  It's what the best little brothers do.

Then, on February 27th, Everett was having a rough morning.  He chose to lay in his bed with some books for a while and when Emily went in to check on him, she decided that she had the perfect thing to make him feel better.
She had found some coins in the kitchen and took them in to Everett.  Then, she held her piggy bank so that he could slip them inside.

When those coins were gone but Everett wasn't finished, she went upstairs to retrieve a different bank...
(She knows how to get money back OUT of the other bank.)
and brought it back down to give some more coins to Everett.
It's what the best big sisters do.
*Funny story about Emily's outfit.  She had chosen that shirt a few days before with some pink polka dotted pants.  When I told her that they didn't match and that maybe she could choose something different for school, she did.  So, on this morning, she came out to me excitedly to say, "Mama!  I picked out some pants that match my shirt!!"  How could I say no to my little candy cane?!

** Below is a short video with two clips of the piggy banking pictured above...

Emily is such a sweet, sweet girl! Love the nap time but really love the ingenuity of piggy banking to lift Everett's mood!
Sniff!

Those coins on the wall I think are too big for the piggy banks, but wait those aren't coins those look like balloons! I like them and all of the fun that you two are having.

Love,
Papa
