Happy Birthday Daddy!

Emily was constantly asking how many more days until Daddy's birthday, so on January 9th she made a countdown chain.
We have been preparing ever since - making his wrapping paper
and wrapping up some gifts.
Each day the chain got shorter...
until the chain was gone and it was THE day!
First thing in the morning, Emily gave Daddy her gift - a coloring book for grown ups.
It will be a nice, calming activity and one that Emily wants to do around the clock.  Daddy thanked her for her very thoughtful gift and then everyone colored through breakfast and coffee.  (Everett was drawing candles on a cake.)
Shortly after, Daddy set off to golf with his friend Brad.  Unfortunately, Brad left too quickly at the end and I didn't get a picture.  But, I did get one of the kids showing Daddy his newly updated birthday signs and "party" scene.
Then we had to race out the door to make it to our reserved dinner.  I chose Coyote Grill because they had fajitas (Daddy's proclaimed favorite) and a nice view.
We enjoyed the view,
the company, the dinner, and Daddy's birthday dessert!
We finished up and left in time to move to a different locale and snag some sunset pictures...
before returning home to open more gifts,
 don our party hats,

and have some cake.

Happy Birthday, Daddy, we love you!!

And what a special day it was! One of my favorite parts was the fact that Emily felt the need to tell everybody that we saw throughout the day that it was my birthday...such a sweet girl. I am very appreciative of all the time and effort that went into planning another wonderful birthday celebration and most of all I am glad I got to celebrate it with my 3 favorite people in the world. I love you Mama, Emily and Everett!!

Love Daddy

Happy birthday Paul! February is by far the best birthday month ever! Ha! And yes, the village typically comes down around my b-day weekend. So we're still making good time. And when I say we, I mean Russ. Just glad we had it up so Atty and Sophia could play with it. It was great to see them and play together. Good times!
