Everett likes to eat. I hesitate to mention it for fear that something will change - so don't read this to him, okay? Since Everett is so totally different than Emily, I decided to give him more of a chance to get away from pureed food and feed himself. (Emily was still throwing up entire meals if a solid food item was in her mouth until her first Puff at 11 months!) My friend, Natascha gave me the book Baby Led Weaning when we moved away from TX and hounded (encouraged) me about it all of the time. I must say, I haven't read the book totally but have tried the concept anyway with Everett.

I think this mouth stuffed with potato says it all.
On February 27th I chronicled one meal...

"Hmmm... what shall I eat next?"
though a little did fall by his side.
So far, his muffins and bread have created the most mess...
and stray blueberries tend to make their "mark" as well.
But, overall, it has been pretty great. This is perfect for Everett - every kid is so different. * It is MUCH messier to have an "eater" (vs. Emily, my non-eater) - I have to detail his highchair every couple of days, but I could easily do it daily if I wanted.

Di I dare say you have an "eater"! Don't want to jinx it.
I think the evidence is overwhelming that Everett enjoys a mouthful of food, no matter the conveyance! The faster the better seems to work for him! HAPPY DAYS!!!
BIG hugs!!
Three cheers for Everett the a good eater! I have a tough eater at home just like Emily...maybe Mia will be a good eater, too!
Woo hoo! Less stressful, huh? Love how you recorded the blueberry mishaps :)
Hounded huh, we should put our two "eaters" together. We call Nash the black hole. LOL Everett's high chair is pristine compared to my piggie. Congrats on the eater and taking the plunge to trust your boy. They know how to do it we just have to let them get on with it. No more hounding. LOL
Yeah, he eats!! Allison, you deserve him! Everett has to be a good eater to support those wonderful thighs. Another observation, do you think Everett is favoring his left hand like Emily?

Good job Everett, food is sooo good. It is really cool when you learn how to open the fridge and help yourself!
Love, Papa
Yea Everett! Maybe his eating habits will rub off on Emily? But if not, at least you have one eater.
