Mimi and Papa Visit!

On the morning of April 19th, Emily and Everett anxiously watched the escalator at the airport baggage claim...

for the first sighting...

of Mimi and Papa!!

Before lunch, Mimi was already sitting down for a drawing session with Emily...

and Papa was hanging out with Everett.

Then there were some horsey rides...

and a drawing session with Papa that afternoon.

The next morning, Saturday, we went out for a walk and stopped at a park where Emily has been waiting to show Papa how well she can climb!

Papa had to help her up when they were at the park last, and Emily REALLY wanted to show him that she could do it by herself!

(Plus, the masterful climbing she can do in general.)

Then we continued on to the hike portion and Emily was all set with her binoculars like Papa's.

They were great for bird sightings...

on the way to the top.

The top is where we always like to stop, get a drink of water, 

and check out the view of the ocean (this time with binoculars, very cool!), 

before walking down the other side.

After our walk, we got all cleaned up...

and went to Matt and Mary's wedding in San Diego!

On Sunday evening, we escaped the house (filling up with boxes) and went to enjoy being outside together.

Then, on Monday morning, Papa got to look around Emily's classroom...

before we went to lunch...

and bid farewell to Papa.

Mimi was able to stay longer and the kids are excited for their chance to see Papa again in June!
