A Whole New World...

On Tuesday morning, Everett and I hung out in the garage for a while rearranging things.  I took his mirror off his chair and he immediately took it over and said that he would hang it for Emily to use.
Then, while he played, I pushed, sweat, vacuumed, and pulled until his car seat was securely positioned  facing forward!
(I thought it was so cute how he stuck his hand out the window waiting for the snack I walked away to get - just before previous picture was taken.  He hadn't ever been able to stick his hand out at all. haha)
The view from the driver's seat as we were leaving to get Emily was even sweeter...
and he was set to go.
At our first stoplight he was excitedly pointing and telling me, "wook at the bwinking wight!! ...  It is green!  It's not blue."  The turn signal - seen straight on for the first time.  Apparently the light looked blue as he worked hard to see it through the mirror all of this time.
I was SURE that Emily would notice right away the change so we let her in Everett's door and I was ready with the camera.  But she just couldn't put her finger on the "big surprise."
Perhaps I had built it up too much.  Maybe she was expecting something grand like new colored ceilings and seats.  Or maybe it was the fact that I let her in Everett's side and she doesn't ever look at the car from that side.  Regardless, as we pulled into the garage she exclaimed, "OH!  I know what's different!!"  She was excited too.
And it got Everett all excited again.
The back seats look very different now (and I don't mean the blur)...
and so does the world out in front of the car!
Everett is really enjoying the change.
**This is a video I took right after Everett got in his seat for the first time.  He was squealing with delight, "My chair is cool!  My chair is cool!"

Wow, you are a dedicated momma waiting this long to switch him forward-facing...good for you! I waited a long time with Jackson too, not so much with Claire though. I love the excitement from both kids!

FINALLY! Everett is looking at the other side of the world!! Amazing how he had used his mirror so effectively to comment on things behind him but now he can use it to see what is FOLLOWING him!!
Happy day XOXO!!

Yea for Everett getting a whole new view to riding in the car. Love those milestones! I know Sophia loved it when her seat was turned.
