Going Home

On Friday morning (May 6th) Emily, Daddy, and Mimi came back to the hospital to take Mama and Everett home. Emily was pretty excited that morning!
Daddy, with Emily's supervision, got Everett all dressed and ready to go. They had been shopping the night before and picked out some cute overalls.

Unfortunately, it was pretty chilly and the hospital would not part willingly with any blankets BUT Mama did have a sweater!
As Mama was wheeled away from the room (hospital protocol), Emily lost it for the first time. It was too much to see Mama and Everett being taken away when she had been told that everyone was going home together. She cried a lot on the way down but was happy when Mama pulled her onto her lap as we waited for the car.

Everett looked so teeny in his big car seat...
and he sounded terribly uncomfortable...
UNTIL the car got moving. Then he was happy.
We made it home and walked in the front door for the first time as a family of four...
and Everett took his first nap in his pack 'n play.

That afternoon Emily shared her princess books with her baby brother...
and Mama wondered how Everett could have been curled up inside her just 36 hours before.
Welcome home little guy!!
