We got to our postpartum room at about 3:4o in the morning.

Once there we said good bye to Cassie (L&D nurse),

and Corey ("baby nurse" in L&D),

and said hello to Lauren - the night nurse taking care of both of us.

Just a few short hours later my doctor came through, circumcised Everett (6 hours old, POOR baby!!!!), and the pediatrician came through as well. Daddy went home to pick up Emily and tell her the good news - that baby Everett had arrived while she was sleeping - and brought her back to the hospital.

A little while later Mimi and Dele showed up. (Dele had come down to be at the house while Emily slept which allowed Mimi to be at the hospital for Everett's birth and our move to postpartum. Thank you, Dele!!)

Everett was pretty sleepy of course,

but did manage to grab hold of Daddy when he got the chance.

And Emily grabbed a hold of him EVERY chance she could get!!

Daddy and Mama enjoyed a "celebration dinner" for lunch - a pretty decent filet mignon complete with sparkling cider! (I wore my finest gown...)

Shortly after, Jeannette was in to give Everett his bath. Because he had already been circumcised he didn't get to have the full immersion bath that they typically give.

He did get a good and thorough wash though...

and was really happy to get his new shirt and hat...

and to be snuggled by Mama.

He also snuck in a nap with Daddy...

before Emily was back in the afternoon for more kisses...

and cuddles.

He was pretty sad when she left with Daddy for the night...

but seemed happy to know that Mama was planning to stay behind.

Love the way you caught Everett's "moods." Glad he is doing so well, eating and gaining weight as he should! He's beautiful!
Love, Aunt Carolyn
What a beautiful family!!! Lauren, Cole and I stalk the blogs many times daily to see Miss Emily and Sir Everett - thank you for sharing. What gorgeous children - Aunt Sarah
Wow! Your hospital meal sounds way better than what I had at HEB! Wow! Nice! And of course, beautiful pics of your beautiful family! What a great room! The lighting was great for pics and looked like it had a view! Of something other than a rooftop. :)
Oh, you did a great job capturing all of Everett's moments at the hospital. You will love having this record as he gets older!
Yay, love all of the Everett pictures! I hope you all are doing well!!! What a wonderful family you have!
