On Friday, May 25th, we were on our way to Great Grandma Velda's house in Iowa! Everett was pretty happy to be on a plane again.
Thankfully, it only looks like he was being loud - he really wasn't. He did a great job and even did a little shopping before we took off.Emily was happy to be on a plane again as well, but she was paying VERY close attention to all of the announcements...
so she wouldn't miss the one telling us, "you may now turn on your approved electronic devices." (I caught that exact moment on camera.)
Our first flight only got us to DFW, so we wheeled around the airport,
caught the tram, grabbed some lunch, and boarded the second flight that took us to Des Moines and this familiar face!
The excitement to see Grandpa was only enhanced when the kids got a chance to try on his hat.
Excitement, much excitement.
And joy - those feet hadn't touched the ground in a long time!
Once we gathered all of our things and calmed down a little, we drove home to Great Grandma Velda's where we found Nana and Great Grandma!
Nana and Emily didn't waste any time, and played Cooties right after dinner...
while Everett checked out the toys in the basement.
But, it wasn't long before Emily found them too, and showed Everett how it is supposed to be done.
He didn't care much though because he discovered that more toys lurk in every drawer and basket. And he only suffered a minor setback when he tried to follow his car UNDER the baby cradle.
To round out a perfectly wonderful (and exhausting) day, Emily selected three babies that would sleep in bed with her.

What a great baby!!! I only hope Adam Jr. is that well behaved on our flight to CA.

Mr. Mellow strikes again! Lucky you guys!! Cute picture of Everett in Grampa's hat...he thinks it's funny too! This is his first trip to Iowa and his Morris roots, right?

Glad it went great on the airplane and that the kiddos are having such a fun time exploring.
Oh wow, how great that the kids were so well-behaved on your trip. That makes life much easier doesn't it! Looks like you all had lots of fun!
