A BIG Day for Emily!

Yesterday, Emily went for an OT Evaluation for feeding issues and it has never felt so good to have someone say something is abnormal!  The therapist said that her "pickiness" is definitely physiological and not behavioral.  That means that those of us that are closest to her, and have experienced mealtimes with her a million times over, have been right!  And all of the doctors and people who have dismissed our concerns were wrong!  Hooray!  The therapist also said that Emily is very smart and very sweet - so clearly she knows what she is talking about!  ;)

We will have the report in a few weeks (which is needed for insurance purposes) and will then figure out when she can start receiving help.  Her therapy will involve desensitizing her to those things that she has a strong aversion to and hopefully, eating will become a lot more enjoyable for everyone! I am just sorry it took this long!

I felt the same way when Sophia's head issues and reflux issues were diagnosed too. Glad she's getting some help so she can enjoy all those foods she's missing out on.

That's such great news! Hopefully the therapy will include things that will be easy for you guys to do at home; I'm sure you're going to see such a difference!! And of COURSE Emily is so smart and sweet, we all knew that one for sure! But that sure validates your choice in OTs! :)
