So, while we were at Disney On Ice celebrating Everett's birthday, our new house was getting a fresh coat of paint in the main living areas.
Then, Sunday afternoon and evening I ran over to take Emily's room from lavender...
to light pink!
They continued painting and removing an obscene amount of outlet covers/switch plates on Monday and Tuesday...
so that carpet could go in on Wednesday.
Then there was just enough time for our painters to return on Friday for some baseboard painting and outlet cover replacement (by Grandpa)...
before Saturday (May 11th) - moving day!!
While our movers unloaded the old house...
we played in the backyard...
and had a glamorous outdoor lunch.
Then we loaded in the UHaul...
and the movers took their two full trucks over to the new house!!
There are always interesting new ideas that come up when moving...
and old treasures to be found.
And when you are unpacking with little ones afoot, it is important to find something fun for them to do!
(Everett made quite a lovely race car!)
But instead of calling a handyman...
we were lucky enough to give our "do it yourself" projects to Grandpa!
We did provide a couple of assistants, of course!
And all the while, Emily mastered her 2 weeks of intense swimming lessons,
and found new areas to explore. (Also, new areas that were OFF LIMITS!)
But, all work and no play does make for a dull time so we did take a FEW minutes for some outside fun.
And through it all, we had one thing that never changed - a comfy and safe place to lay our heads.
Thank goodness!
*Yes, Everett was in a moving UHaul while not in a carseat. No, it was not between houses but just during parking. :)
