On Sunday morning, the 26th, we packed up our things, walked out of the hotel,
and enjoyed some "hotel cereal" (the yummy cereal Mama won't buy)...
on the way to the Safari Park. First, stop in the gates, the safari tram.
While on the ride, we saw this white rhino who's species is going to be extinct very soon. She is one of 3 left in the world, the only one in the western hemisphere, and is to old to breed.
We didn't buy our tram picture, but I did snap a picture of it on the sly because it was pretty good!
This was the first time Emily and Everett fed the lorikeets and really enjoyed it!
But, while Daddy was okay with them perched on his hand...Emily preferred that hers remain on the fence.
And Everett? He decided to peek around from behind Daddy's back and not get too close.
Next, we had a great time at the bird show and ended up picking some pretty prime seats!
Though Emily's favorite part was the talking African Grey - because he was funny!(I liked that this Andean Condor kept pummeling the woman with his big wings.)
After the flying birds, we went to see some flying bats! But, they didn't really do much but hang around so the kids jumped in to hang around with them too.
Then we went and got a great show from the gorillas...
and really loved the playful baby.
And after some more exploration, I asked, "who's ready for another bird show?!" and this is the response I got.
So, we did just that and returned home shortly after.
All in all, a really fun weekend getaway!

It's no secret about your kiddos love of birds. I think it's in their DNA. :)
