Pool Time!

There is a long story about how this past weekend's "getaway" came to be. It all started last April when we were supposed to go to Palm Springs but had to stay back and go to the hospital for my contractions instead. I won't fill in all of the middle but it ended up that we used our stay just down the road in Newport! BUT, we didn't "stay" there at all. On Friday, we decided that we would save ourselves the packing and just go over for some fun during the day. When we arrived in our villa it was time for Everett to have lunch...
before he could get ready for the pool.
Once on the pool deck, he did a little standing around...

and modeling his pool gear.

Then it was time for him to get in the pool for the first time!
In case you can't tell, he LOVED it.

and tried to get out numerous times. Chasing after the ball or not... he wanted to swim...

and splash!
He even enjoyed putting his face in the water.
We had a good time on Friday, hanging out at the pool. On Saturday, however, it was a little too chilly for the pool (Friday was borderline) so we chose to just hit the pier instead.
I happen to have a BIG love for the Newport pier, it's yummy food, the ocean, the people, (I could go on), and I am trying to sway the rest of my family to feel the same. So far... so good! While Daddy was getting our food, Emily and Everett just took it all in.
And out of EVERYTHING going on (a man on a unicyle, boys doing roller skate tricks, seagulls, kids, a wedding party taking pictures) Emily's favorite was a single man with his guitar, singing. While he played and sang, Emily sang along making up her own lyrics.
And Everett? Well, he had some friends stop by that he was fascinated with.
It was a kind of strange arrangement that made for a fun weekend!

Amazing that Everett was able to have his first pool experience in February, right? Good thing you live so close to Newport and the beach! Looks like a really fun weekend was had by all and that the little things still fascinate Everett (love the pigeon shot the best...so cute).

The first picture of Everett standing poolside looks like he's doing his obligatory stretches before a swimming workout! So CUTE! Love his "gear". He is so sophisticated holding his shades for a photo op!! What a fun, fun weekend!
Hugs and kisses!
