Daddy's Birthday 2012!

Daddy was scheduled to travel on the evening of his birthday, the 8th, so we had a surprise party for him when he got home on the 7th. The first thing he saw was...
the birthday signs.
Of course!
(*Color issues discussed later)

He also had some presents waiting with some special balloons attached.
I bet you can't guess who picked out the balloons!

The claw was in full effect. :)
We had a brief pause in the celebration so we could call Great Grandma Velda - since the 7th IS her birthday!
Then, after dinner, we got out the cake...

a wish was made...
and high fives shared.
We couldn't let that be the end of the celebrating though! So, before Daddy had to catch his flight on the 8th we went to his office...
and had lunch together.
We LOVE you, Daddy! Hope you had a happy birthday!

* As you saw, the coloring in the pictures printed this year is TERRIBLE! I didn't look at them until I got home because I knew they weren't going to be great but they were going to be the best we could get with our schedule. But, when I saw them I decided that it was imperative that we get new ones printed. When I called to tell them I would be bringing them back and to have new ones ready, I said, "the door is WHITE, in case that helps!" Well, it didn't really help. He said that he lightened them the best he could. Whatever. Grumble grumble. At least I can get new ones for next year. And they will look like this!

Wow, what a wonderful celebration you had for your Daddy's birthday, Everett! I love your birthday sign tradition (especially the fact that Mommy mixes in photos from previous years) and I hardly noticed the poor photo quality. I'm sure Daddy didn't mind either...he looked pretty happy to have such a great party with his family. Happy Birthday, Paul!

Great idea with the birthday sign! Everett, your mommy is so clever. You are getting to be a big boy!
