and on the week of August 6th she went to another camp. Her last day was Friday, the 10th, and it was a pretty special day for a lot of reasons. First of all, Mimi and Papa arrived while the kids were sleeping on Thursday night! So, that morning, Emily was really excited to see them and even took her breakfast outside so she could join Papa's conference call for work...
before heading off to camp.
It was a beach theme, and her pictures and handmade frame were great!
The second reason it was a great day was that I got to go pick up Uncle Adam, Aunt Angie, and Adam Jr. from the airport after I dropped her off at camp! The little boys had fun "meeting" each other again and playing in the playroom...
and the big boys had fun playing a round of HORSE in the backyard. I particularly liked these two shots that Papa named, "leisure day in Allison's backyard"...and "the hook 'n ladder." (See, Uncle Adam is standing on the ladder while doing a hook shot.)
Everyone was happy that day...
And it only got better due to the third reason it was a great day... we had extended SoCal family over for dinner!
And the fourth reason - Uncle Ryan, Auntie J, and Liam flew in too just before we ate!
It was a day that would definitely qualify as "special" according to Papa.
Oh, and for Emily too. After all, when the little boys went to bed she perched herself right by the fireplace...
ready to celebrate National S'mores Day! (Really, no joke - August 10, 2012)
Which means that the fifth reason that it was a great day was that Emily was able to eat s'mores and show everyone how to make them.
(It was, actually, Aunt Angie's first time!!)
We took a big group shot at the end of the night, minus the "triplets." (L-R Papa, Uncle Adam, Aunt Angie, cousin Jennifer, Mimi, aunt Cheryl, Emily, Uncle Larry, Mama, Daddy, cousin Jake, cousin in-law Stephanie, Uncle Ryan, Auntie J)
Now, the sixth reason it was a great day actually arrived after midnight. Poor Victoria had a terrible travel day and was QUITE delayed! But, she was safely with us the next morning so that's all that matters!
Speaking of the next morning... there was a lot of activity up in the playroom...
and pretty much anywhere the triplets were.
(I tried to get a picture of all three but it was kind of a losing battle.)The adults were furiously shopping and packing for our departure and since Emily had just learned that umbrellas could be used to keep the sun off of you and not just the rain, she oversaw the packing of the cars with her umbrella...
before playing a game with Victoria.
And the boys? Well, they just played and played...
until we were finally loaded up in the cars...
and ready to drive to...
Lawrence Welk in Escondido where we unloaded...
played and explored...
put the triplets to bed and ate dinner!
Phew! Two great and busy days back to back!
