Welk - BEACH DAY!

Wednesday (8/15) of Welk week was beach day!  Hooray!  Before we set off that morning, Emily did a little of her puzzle...
and both she and Everett got lathered up with sunscreen.
We grabbed a nice spot on the beach to set up camp...
and we were off!
(Everett found a little friend to play with pretty quick.)

Emily tried out some boogie boarding for the first time and did really well!

But it was not her first time when everyone pitched in to make her a mermaid.
Uncle Ryan covered Liam in sand too.
And when Daddy had finished turning Emily into a mermaid...
Liam was a super happy boy in a pile of sand.
Then, as soon as Emily broke out of her mermaid tail, Everett laid down for a turn.
He thought that was pretty funny.
There was another mermaid on the beach at some point that day as well.
While everyone else was being buried in sand, Adam Jr. ...
was just enjoying his first time to walk on sand.
Everything was great until he happened upon a hole that he didn't expect...
but, he was still all smiles, so it was okay!
We spent several hours at the beach, mostly playing...

before we packed it all up and headed home for some more Smashball...
soccer...
BYOT...
and another game night.  :)

*It was a WONDERFUL day!  The weather was warm, the water was perfect (all adults were able to boogie board and body surf as they wished), the waves crashed out far enough that the littles had plenty of safe room to play, and we met a nice man who let us into the hotel courtyard to shower off.  Hooray for beach day!
