I hung up our engagement picture today. Soon after, I carried Everett into our room and he immediately started exclaiming, "Da-da!" I praised him and walked right over to the picture, pointed at myself and asked, "who is that?"
He looked very puzzled. After a minute, he smiled, looked at Paul, and said, "Da-da!" I gave him a chance several more times to figure out that it's ME in the picture to no avail. (I am sure it is the hair color and not that I have aged at all in 9 years.) Then, as we were leaving the room, Everett said, "bye, Da!" and waved. He has said, all done, bye bye, and thank you but this was the first time he chose two words to string together himself. I won't worry about why he doesn't recognize his mother right now, he will be able to explain himself soon enough!

Gotta be the hair color. But you're right. Before you know it, he'll be able to explain for himself.
what a fun day that was in 2003!
I'm sure Everett will be able to fill in LOTS of details for everything very soon! You may have to resort to Roberts Rules of Order just to get a chance to talk in that house!
XOXO
Yeah! But sorry that he couldn't identify Momma in the picture. Must be the hair.
