Driving Home - July 16th & 17th

So, after our dinner out and yummy ice cream stop...

we mapped out our road trip for the morning.

Which meant that we just had to get up, eat breakfast, and load in the car for our drive.  It was a dark morning...

and we encountered a lot of rain.

But, we had a lot of fun,

played some games,

ate, 

and made it out of Texas!!!!

That night (after 12 hours of driving) we stopped in Deming, New Mexico.

Emily had a big comfy bed...

and Everett had a nice crib.

But, after 12 hours of just driving, they didn't settle in as quickly as we had hoped.  So, we (Mimi and Mama) finally decided to hide under the covers and sip our wine.

It was extremely comical and I am sure we were silent!  But, eventually everyone went to sleep so we could head out bright and early the next morning.  It was a beautiful day in New Mexico...

and Arizona.

We made our mandatory stop at Council Rock, Arizona...

before finally crossing the California border,

and the border of our neighborhood!

After another 12 hours of driving we were happy to be home!

And happy to see Daddy!  (He was also happy to see us.)
