Today (Jan. 20th) was a holiday for Emily. And because of our unseasonably warm weather, we planned to meet up at the beach with friends. Emily and Everett were VERY happy to be back at the beach and excited to pose upon our arrival.
Then they were off and running (literally) with our friend, Rachel.
Rachel's birthday is the August after Emily's and Riley's birthday is the December before Everett's.
The waves were pretty large and crashed out a ways so we could see the beautiful greens and blues before the water mixed too much with the sand.
Before too long, Ky and her little brother Cade (back of Cade's head visible only) arrived and they all played a little before sitting down for lunch.
And, since it was our Mimi's birthday, we baked some brownies to share with our friends at the beach. We knew Mimi would like everyone having chocolate (cake preferred) to celebrate and the kids liked the idea as well!
(I thought it was funny that when Emily saw her brownie picture she was slightly horrified by her hair while I only commented on her non-smile. Darn rubber bands always break when sunscreen is involved.)
