Merry Christmas Morning!

We didn't have any early morning wake up calls on Christmas this year.  And even though Santa had definitely come by,

it wasn't until 7:15 that we went to get Emily out of her room. 

And even though Mama and Daddy were there with cameras and big smiles, she walked out to the family room and not toward the tree.  Everett was still in bed and it wasn't until we asked Emily if she wanted to check if Santa came, did she get really excited... 

and race in to find Daddy and the presents!

 The first thing she went for was...

Periwinkle.

 Then she checked out Everett's Sesame Street toy...

before heading upstairs to "wake" Mimi and Papa.

Emily had a little time to explore before Everett got up, but eventually he came out too...

and Emily took him right over to see his new toy.

At that point, I am pretty sure we went to eat breakfast.  At about 9 o'clock, we finally started opening stockings.

Then, Emily pulled out the cars she picked for herself...

 and Everett...

before giving Everett his gift from her.

Everett followed with the gift he chose for Emily.

(Eric and Ariel, just like the two of them at Halloween!) 

We had plenty more wonderful gifts to exchange...

before playtime and dinner/company prep - plus, a champagne toast for the adults.
