On December 18th, Everett and I went to watch the dress rehearsal for Emily's Christmas program at school. We weren't the only ones there... we met up with Everett's friend, Riley on the way in.
I decided to go to the rehearsal so I could take pictures of the kids processing in...
and be able to position myself in the best place to see Emily without many other parents to contend with.
Everett loved the whole thing and clapped every time they finished singing a song. The other parents couldn't get over how cute he was with his clapping and that he knew right where Emily was.
I took a video (on our good video camera) of the whole show. But, I did manage to take a few still shots as well...
before following the kids out to take a few pictures of Emily with her classmates.
Emily and Everett both enjoyed the experience...
and walked out together.
The real show was on the morning of December 20th. The place was packed and I was glad that I had been there for the rehearsal because we knew where to sit to have a good view of Emily.
(On the day of the show, she chose to be Mary instead of an angel.)Emily did a great job! Just like at the rehearsal, we could hear her perfectly among/above the other children. The others did sing more than in the rehearsal but multiple parents and grandparents still commented to us about Emily's great performance.
The director asked questions throughout, and Emily was always at the ready with the correct answer. Not intimidated by the crowd at all. This girl loves to be on stage.
On her way out, Everett made sure to give her a big high five!
After the program, we were all invited back to the classroom for some punch and cookies.
Everett is still a star in that room and gets a lot of attention.
It was the last day before Christmas break, so Emily gave her teachers a little gift and big hugs good bye. (Mrs. Silverson)
(Mrs. Allen)
*She made them some cards the night before...
and dictated personal notes too.
