Everett is still not feeling well and it started out as a pretty bad day.
But, while he was running errands with me to prepare for hosting playgroup this afternoon, things started looking up. He got a balloon from Party City, the barista in the grocery store cut up a donut and gave him three pieces...
and as we exited the grocery store, we saw (and said hi to) a cute doggie. All three together, makes this boy go from sad to glad!
Once we were home, Everett found some more fun while I was working in the garage. As I was covering the drinks in the ice chest with ice, Everett said, "Mama, youd!" I asked him if that was too loud and he said yes. Haha, add loud to his speaking vocab list. Shortly after that, he asked me for some water. When I brought it out to him, he promptly put it in the cup holder of the wagon (without taking a sip) and climbed inside. (Not thirsty, just noticed cup holders and wanted a cup.)
Then, he further surprised me when he said, "Mama, clock clock clock!" When I looked over, he was pointing to the gauge on the bike pump that he had been playing with. With a circle face, numbers, and a "hand" it was a great connection for Everett. Seeing Everett so engaged in his world and making great connections turns it to a happy day for me too!
*If you too want to put some happy in your day...
