Oh Happy Day - For the Fruit Lover

On April 23rd, Everett went to the strawberry farm and got his own sticker which deemed him "strawberry picker in training!"
I was his supervisor.
We were there with some moms and kids from Emily's preschool class...
and we had Aunt Allison along too!
It was another cloudy and cool day (like the weekend) but Everett didn't even notice.  He was too busy eating the produce straight out of the ground.  There was the cilantro,
(he made a little face at first but did eat more than one leaf)
the snap pea,
and the carrots!
Oh boy!  Carrots!!

Emily was completely baffled - wondering why all of her friends and brother thought these foods were so good.
Everett was only baffled and a little upset that I took the carrots away!
But, little did he know... it was time to go out in the strawberry field!

Again, Emily licked her strawberry...
while Everett...
well...
he did much more than lick.
And I think he totally forgot about the carrots!
But, with bites like these...
he was bound to get a little messy.
Messy but satisfied!
When our farm tour was complete, we snapped a quick picture,
bought some fresh produce, and drove over to the Newport Pier.  I was sorry that Everett couldn't enjoy anything at Jane's...
but maybe when he is bigger he can pick out something yummy like his big sister did.
But, he may not have even noticed - after all, his tummy was full and he had missed his morning nap!
He did perk up a bit when we went out on the pier though...

and almost climbed out of his stroller trying to get those seagulls!!  BIRDIES!!!
I don't think he was able to see the pod of dolphins we saw swim by but it was a great sight and hopefully when he is a little bigger he will have his turn.
Which reminds me... Emily DID get her treat since she is already "bigger."  It was quite large...
and messy.
But the bonus... her faces were making Everett laugh
All around, a happy day!
* There was an earthquake centered just a few miles away on this day.  But since we were riding around in the wagon on the farm, Emily and Everett didn't even feel their first one!

Wow, Everett, I love how you will try just about anything. I love the photos of you eating carrots and strawberries. Yummy! You sure showed Aunt Allison a good time in SoCal.

Maybe Everett will be a farmer, organic so he can eat the veggies right in the field! That is a really fun place. Glad he could get filled up and off to the birdies with someone rolling him along to all the sights!

Those strawberries sure did look sweet and juicy! Great job sampling everything Everett! I hear that Santa loves it when you eat all your fruits and veggies (and he's always watching). :)

Everett, you were so willing to try all of the yummy veggies and so excited to see the birds at the pier - what a great day! Thanks for letting me tag along (and not experience your first earthquake with you)!
