Stretching Easter Eggstra Long

We didn't have time to dye eggs before we left town for Easter, so today was the day! Everett was ready for his first egg dying session! Or maybe it was that everything was ready for him to dye eggs and he was unsure about what in the world he was supposed to do.
So, I stepped in to show him what to do. He had a hard time letting go of his egg...
but eventually we got it in the red. After showing him that he would need to pull it back out...
he was on his own to do as he pleased.

Poor guy was ready for his nap though, and worked really hard to keep it together when I kept telling him "uh-uh!" about picking up the glasses.
In the next instant, he successfully dumped over the purple glass and my loud "uh-uh!" as it was falling, did him in.
No matter though, he was happy to be placed in the sink - where he discovered how to turn on the water!
And he got a little bath...
that didn't make much difference. :)
Emily was a super big sister and very patient as Everett dyed his eggs...
and took care of coloring his "Everett" egg that he wasn't able to color himself.

You're such a great mom! I hate the smell of dying eggs so we've only done it twice. Sophia hated it, so I took that as a cue to not dye eggs. Of course, now that she's older, she might like it better? Maybe we should try again? You know I don't mind a medss. It's the smell.

Good for you with your Easter tradition! And LOVE the pic of him losing it....or is he telling you off? In that case, I'll have to act like he shouldn't have done that but I can't help but laugh at his expression!

This is wonderful! I have always wondered of the messier they get, the more fun they have!

Everett, you have the world's best (and bravest) Mommy! I love your egg dying techniques, even though most of the dye got on you. So cute!
