Lately I had been thinking that it might be time for Everett's first hair cut. It was getting a little long in the back...
and while some people were adamant that it didn't need to be cut, others felt strongly the other way.
Daddy and I just didn't want to say goodbye to his curls!
But last week I took a picture to remind myself of why I did think he needed a trim. The "glowing mullet" as coined by my friend, Sarah.
So last night was the night. Everett really wanted to be running around the backyard kicking a soccer ball but we let him hold one instead.I started with the top of his head. Just a little cleaning up.
Once that was finished,
it was time to wet down...
and trim the back. He didn't love the sitting still part and kept pulling away from me...
but we got it done.
And while Emily was on board for a few more pictures, Everett just wanted to get down!
So we let him have some play time before bath.Fast forward to this morning and a few pictures of his big boy hair cut after it had dried and been slept on.
We miss the curls but I have hope that a few remain.

Oh dear, he's all growed up!
XOXO
Wow -- the "curl" cut makes him look so much older!
such a cutie. Good cutting job Mama!
Well done, Mommy! It sure is tough to give that first little boy haircut. Noah had a little tail when he was Everett's age and without even a chance for me to object, Daddy buzzed it off with his clippers. I was crushed!
Good job Mama!! Very handsome. (I prefer the short hair on little fellas :)
What a cutie! I also loved the curls, it's hard to see your little one growing up! I should show you a picture of Ben before his haircut, I don't know how I could have thought that he didn't need a haircut with a 6 inch hunk standing practically straight up on top of his head - but I thought he was so cute with his "baby" hair! Everett's baby hair was much cuter with those curls in back. What a handsome "big boy" now!
Oh my, what a big boy he is! It's amazing how much older he looks with the haircut. I laughed out loud at the "glowing mullet" photo and reference! You guys are hilarious!!
Looks great! Not a big fan of the mullet!
