Growing Up

When I went in to get Emily this morning, she was happily reading her play program on her freshly made bed!

It is her job to make it every morning and after nap, but today was the first time she did it without anyone mentioning it - she was very proud.  She also wanted to take a silly picture.

Then, during breakfast, I walked away to brush my teeth and when I came back Emily was in her bathroom getting a washcloth wet.  She told me that Everett wanted to read his book so she needed to clean him up before she could give it to him.

So she took care of it all...

and gave him his book.

Fast forward to after Everett's gym class as we were driving home.  I had let him hold a Dum Dum that we were going to give to Emily when we picked her up from school.  He was blowing on it as we got in the car and started driving, but then I heard a little smacking and there was a hint of blueberry in the air.

So, I pulled over.

He knew enough to know that there was a delicious treat inside and he had sucked right through the paper.

I traded him for a straw to suck on.

So much growing up going on these days.
