Halloween 2012

During the month of October, Emily definitely had mermaids on the brain.  She was very excited for Halloween!
But, the weekend before Halloween, Mama and Daddy had a non-mermaid costume party of our own.
Though I did share my wig...
 with both kids.
After seeing himself in the mirror, Everett turned around and asked where his special shoes were.  Really.
Emily didn't have school on Halloween day but had "orange day" the day before.

Before school I had to take a picture of the kids in front of our witch.
I mean, in front of our SCARY witch!!!!
But don't be frightened when you see Everett dressed up as Prince Eric.

Okay, so I didn't really send him out in the wig... but he did tolerate it pretty well.
Everett looked very handsome as a prince and his outfit, made by Mama, turned out pretty well.  (I realized that Eric had a belt without dangling ends - this was more pirate than Eric.)
And Emily was gorgeous as Ariel in her wonderful Mimi made mermaid tail!  Gorgeously HUGE red locks as well.

That day we went to see Miss Stephanie...
and met our old neighborhood playgroup at the park in the afternoon.

From the park potluck, our whole family...

went over to meet up with Emily's friend Sydney and her family.
It was Everett's first trick or treating experience.  He was ready...
and stayed very attentive to the task at hand.

Though he did stop to admire some of the decorations...
and inspect his loot.
("Hey, did one of you take my M&Ms?! I am SURE I had some!")

We did a lot of trick or treating and by the end, Emily's tail was hiked up (for easier walking)...
and Everett's bag was dragging.
(Had to take a picture of this army man from Toy Story.  He commented that he smiled for the pic but didn't need to since no one can see his face.  Surprise!  The flash made it possible!)
(each boot had a metal plate on the bottom - his legs got a work out for sure)
On the last stretch, there weren't any new houses, so the kids finally rode in the stroller.

And we ended the night with a family picture,
happy kids, and a lot of candy!
