Daddy's birthday was on a Friday this year. That morning, Emily and Everett made his wrapping paper...
and we wrapped his gifts that afternoon so he could find them (and the card Emily made) when he got home from work.
The downer this year is that I couldn't find where I put his birthday sign cards in this house! I finally did find them, but not in time to take new pictures. So, we hung up his birthday signs without new pictures. New ones WILL be added though. :)
Emily has ballet on Friday afternoons and after her class, we went in the rain to pick up Daddy's dinner of choice (supreme pizza) before returning home and opening gifts over dinner. One of his wrapped gifts was Peter Pan. He did know that I bought it but didn't know that I had picked it up and it was mainly a gift for our family (on his rainy birthday night) to watch a movie. (The rain forecast for Friday is why we started with Disney on Thursday.)
Once he had opened his movie and the other wrapped gift (our first Girl Scout cookies of the year), Emily and Everett brought out a couple of other things. This is when Daddy learned that we would be going somewhere with snow!
(Have to include this picture for obvious reasons.)
It is when the kids figured it out as well. They were excited.
Once our dinners were finished, we brought out Daddy's (not totally frozen) ice cream cake...
and the kids helped him blow out the candles.
Then I raced to pack the kids and myself and told Daddy to pack for the snow and a night away from home.
