Talent Scout

During the last week in November, Everett was spotted by a talent scout and asked to visit her offices.  I took him there to see what they would say and how much money they would want. ;)  When we pulled up, I knew immediately that we had a problem.  It was compounded because we had just returned from our TX trip and I hadn't restocked the diapers in the "on the go" stash.  I carried him in to the office and told the women at the front that I would have to reschedule - as I looked around for a mom to borrow a diaper from.  One of the receptionists offered a Pull Up from her car and then a mom walked out, overheard, and handed me a big Pull Up from her 3 year old's supply that she had in her stroller.  I told the receptionists that I would be right back and then returned to the car to change his diaper.  Well, it was a mess.  Without going in to great detail, "it" was EVERYWHERE.  His onesie and pants were a total loss.  I went through all of the baby wipes and even finished off the Wet Ones and Clorox wipes as I giggled at the situation.  There really was nothing else to do.  I put his sweatshirt on and took him back inside to REALLY reschedule this time.
But, they didn't want me to go through the trouble of getting there and then not be seen, so they said they would put me first in line, handed me some papers to fill out, and sent me in to a presentation room full of parents and kids contemplating acting classes, etc.  Please refer to above picture as you imagine me sitting in a room full of acting moms and their little stars who had no idea why Everett was dressed or UNdressed rather.  I wasn't even sure that there weren't smears on his legs as I sat there!! When my paper was filled out I handed it in and they sent me on to "the room."  Everett charmed the boss lady and she and her assistant said, "Gerber baby" no less than 20 times in the 5 minutes we were in there.  Everett saw a cup of Dum Dums on the desk and asked for one.  Then he proceeded to suck on it as he was video taped (to be used in a review of whether or not he was "right") and asked to smile.  He didn't really smile very much, he was just watching himself suck his lollipop on the big screen TV.
The ladies thanked us for coming, and told me that I would hear more the next day.  I smiled and thanked the receptionists on my way out the door and hurried to the car.  (For one thing, this too big Pull Up wasn't guaranteed to hold anything in if put to the test!)  Once Everett was buckled in, he gave me this BIG smile.
The next day, it was confirmed again that he is "so Gerber" and we were asked to sign with their agency.
We didn't.  But, it is a night I will remember forever.
